Central Tokyo

Ginza (Chuo Ward)

Tsukiji Fish Market

Best time to visit is around 7am–12pm. It’s usually pretty busy, but it’s very cool seeing all the different food stalls and seafood vendors.

Kabuki Theatre

You can explore underneath the theatre where there’s a small underground market area. There’s also a rooftop garden and café a few floors up.

Art Aquarium Museum

Super cool and very visually pretty! It’s located inside a shopping complex, so it can be a little tricky to find at first.

Tokyo Station & Imperial Palace Area (Chiyoda Ward)

Imperial Palace Gardens

The East Gardens are free to enter, though it’s best to check beforehand to make sure they’re open on the day you plan to visit.

Tokyo Station

The station itself is honestly worth exploring. In the basement levels you’ll find huge food and souvenir areas, along with Character Street. The station is also a literal maze.

Tokyo Dome Area (Bunkyo Ward)

Tokyo Dome City

The area surrounding Tokyo Dome is really nice to explore. There are shops, rides, and lots of seating areas for lunch.

Koishikawa Korakuen

A beautiful traditional garden right beside the dome. Entry is around ¥500, and it has always been surprisingly peaceful when I’ve visited.
